Dr. Andy Deck

Dr. Andy Deck earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore in 2018. His clinicals were focused primarily in orthopedics and sports medicine, one working exclusively with athletes ranging from high school to professional. He has been working in outpatient orthopedics since getting licensed and has additional training in movement analysis and blood flow restriction. Prior to becoming a PT he earned his Master’s degree in Applied Health Physiology with a focus on strength and conditioning from Salisbury University and his Bachelor’s degree in History from Virginia Tech. Andy has also presented variously on movement assessment, strategies to improve mobility for sports performance, and training for strongman and strength sports at local gyms and national seminars.
Outside of working as a PT, Andy is very involved in the sport of strongman. He has been training and competing since 2005 and today is a nationally sponsored middle weight pro and veteran of 44 strongman competitions from the local level all the way up to the international level with 33 podium finishes. In 2018 he was the middle weight national champion and earned an invitation to compete in the u105 kg World’s Strongest Man where he placed 13th in the world. He has also competed in highland games, highlander, and powerlifting competitions and served for 8 years as the Maryland state chairman split equally between the two national strongman federations.
